Souper Saturday - Free Soup

If you’re homeless, hungry, or going through a tough time, Soup Angels is here for you. Our mission has always been simple: to nourish our neighbors with dignity, warmth, and chef‑crafted meals made with love — human and animal alike.

As Dallas continues discussing possible changes around sharing food with unhoused neighbors, we want you to know this: our commitment doesn’t change. We will continue serving in ways that are safe, respectful, and aligned with city guidelines, because compassion and care are at the heart of everything we do.

To help us stay organized and make sure every request is honored, please submit a ticket for each soup you need. This helps us track inventory, plan responsibly, and keep our outreach running smoothly for everyone who depends on it.

No matter what, Soup Angels will keep showing up — with dignity, with warmth, and with a meal made just for you.

What You Should Know

North Texas is experiencing one of the most severe hunger crises in the country. Texas now leads the nation in food insecurity with a rate of 16.4%, representing nearly 5 million people struggling to access enough food. Within the North Texas Food Bank’s 13‑county service area—which includes Dallas County—an estimated 777,690 residents, or 1 in 7 people, face food insecurity, and child hunger has surged to 20.8%, meaning 1 in 5 children lack consistent access to nutritious meals.

Local surveys show the crisis is worsening: 81% of DFW residents report that food costs are rising faster than wages, and 40% of households exhibit symptoms of food insecurity. Families are increasingly forced to choose between groceries and essential bills, with 52% reporting they had to make this tradeoff in the past year.

This issue is urgent. Rising food prices, the expiration of pandemic‑era supports, and the growing number of homebound seniors, medically fragile neighbors, and families in crisis have created a widening gap in access to reliable nutrition. Without immediate intervention, more Dallas households will face hunger, declining health, and deeper financial instability.

Soup Angels addresses this crisis by providing consistent, chef‑crafted, nutritious meals directly to neighbors who cannot access traditional food resources.
