The Reason Soup Angels Was Born
In 2025, more than 600,000 shelter animals were euthanized. For many unhoused neighbors, their dog isn’t “just a pet” — it’s their family, their safety, and their whole world. Asking someone to surrender that companion isn’t a simple fix. It can be a heartbreaking gamble.
That’s why Soup Angels exists. Supporting people and their pets right where they are is the kinder, safer path. When we help keep those pairs together — with food, supplies, or simple compassion — we’re preventing beloved animals from entering a system where the odds are stacked against them.
Dallas has always shown up for its neighbors. And even as conversations continue about possible ordinances around sharing food with unhoused people and their animals, our mission remains the same: to nourish, to protect, and to stand with the most vulnerable members of our community — human and animal alike.
Rules may shift, but compassion doesn’t. Policies may change, but our commitment to dignity never will.
Soup Angels will continue to operate with transparency, safety, and respect for the city we love — while fiercely protecting the bond between people and their pets. That bond is worth showing up for. It’s worth defending. And it’s worth keeping together.

To help us stay organized and make sure every request is honored, please submit a ticket for each soup you need. This helps us track inventory, plan responsibly, and keep our outreach running smoothly for everyone who depends on it.
