Ukranian Borscht Class 2-3 p.m.
Today from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., I'll be hosting a Soup Angel's Ukrainian Borscht soup-making class. Classes are free for our group members, and you can take your soups home.
1. Borscht is officially UNESCO‑protected.
In 2022, Ukrainian Borscht was added to UNESCO’s List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding — recognizing it as a treasured part of Ukrainian identity and community cooking traditions.
2. Traditional borscht can include up to 30 ingredients.
Every region — and every grandmother — has their own version. Some add smoked pears, beans, mushrooms, or even prunes for depth.
3. It’s not always red.
